Golf class

As a low handicap golfer this class has added 25 yards to my driving distance and has transformed my enjoyment of golf! I would highly recommend it to anyone, regardless of their age or golf standard. I attended the golf strength and fitness class to both increase my swing speed, increasing my overall golf ceiling, and to work on general strength training for my overall health. As I was new to weights training I felt it was really important to have physio supervision to avoid unwanted injuries where possible. If there are any niggles Eoin has alternative exercises at hand. The classes have made me feel better physically and mentally and even without the golf benefits I would still continue to attend. My preference has been to do two classes a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, as I really wanted to build on the progress I was making early on. There is a great blend of upper and lower body exercises, with strength and conditioning stations both adding different benefits.

Physio

I couldn’t recommend Ruth and the team at Enniskerry Physiotherapy more highly. I have a chronic injury in my right knee and set Ruth the impossible task of helping me limp through a marathon. I attended weekly and Ruth worked her magic. I ran the Dublin marathon in a time that I am really proud of, and that genuinely would not have been possible without Ruth. I am now back for my weekly sessions, with two more marathons in the pipeline. I am so grateful that with Ruth’s help, I have been able to achieve a life goal that I thought was off the cards due to injury and that more generally, I am able to get back out for my Saturday morning runs, that I loved and missed so much.

Physio / Mobility class

After having a hip replacement in June 2023 I was not returning to my previous physical ability as quickly as I had expected. I was finding everyday tasks continuing to be difficult and wanted to speed up my recovery. I went to Eoghan on a 1 – 1 basis in September 2023 and he soon had me on the right road. My strength and mobility improved so much that I was able to complete the tasks that previously were so difficult. Tying shoe laces, getting up easily from the chair (and sun lounger on holidays!), Lifting and carrying my grandson, getting up from the floor after playing with my grandson. The one to one consultations really accelerated my return to normal functions and I would highly recommend individual pre and post-surgery physio.

I joined the classes in March 2024 and it has been so good. Attending a small physio led class has meant individual and personal attention. Being helped to correctly perform exercises and having exercises that are really suited to ones needs has been great.

I attend one class a week and would highly recommend it.

Physio / Strength Training

I went to Eoghan to help with symptoms arising from hypermobility. I felt unfit and struggling to hike. I especially felt off balance walking down hills. When I tried a new exercise or activity I would end up easily injured and struggling to progress.

My function and fitness progression has improved exponentially. I am weight lifting, swimming and hiking distance with energy and quicker recovery. I have a much greater understanding of my body and movement. I hadn’t realised I had been moving fearfully and I feel I have learned to distinguish pain from discomfort and newness. Eoghan provided me with sustainable lifestyle changes, great programmes to do myself and I look forward to going to the gym now.

I also attend Eoghan’s mobility strength classes and have been going for over a year. I wanted to reduce how often I needed therapy and to learn how to help myself. I wanted to build strength and add new exercises to my existing resistance and strength programme I do at the gym myself.

I’m finding that having a physio teacher helps in understanding why an exercise is beneficial and exercises can swiftly be adapted to your own needs or requirements.

In a class led by a physio I feel I am safe to push myself while normally with hypermobility I would err on overcaution.

I would recommend the mobility strength class due to its diverse attendees, everyone has different challenges and strengths that inform the class and make it dynamic and changing.

Eoghan’s experience treating and teaching different ages, fitness requirements and conditions provides a very unique and interesting class that everyone benefits from.

Strength training / Pilates classes

I have participated in these classes for circa 10 years. My key goals were to feel fitter, get stronger and have exercise as part of my daily routine. These goals have been achieved to a greater extent than I expected. Having a physiotherapist lead the classes ensures a balanced and scientific approach to exercise and their detailed oversight ensures a safe environment. I do strength and conditioning, cardio and pilates classes 4 times a week and I would strongly recommend these classes as part of a healthy lifestyle. I have fantastic Physio input from Katie, Celeste and Ciara and they are all so innovative and progressive. The Clinic overall is a very dynamic space and it has had huge immeasurable health benefits for me.

Physio / Strength / Osteoporosis / Mobility Classes

When I first started physiotherapy, my goal was to regain the mobility I had lost after breaking my collarbone and developing a frozen shoulder. For 18 months, I couldn’t lift my right arm, and I was eager to rebuild my strength, confidence, and freedom of movement so I could return to activities like mountaineering and rowing. Knowing that Ruth and her whole team was in my corner and has supported others through similar recoveries has been incredibly motivating.

The treatments and classes have been life-changing – impacting not just my mobility but my confidence as well. The personal sessions with Ruth improved my range of motion within months.

The classes mean that at 64, I can do exercises I never thought possible, like deadlifting, and I experience fewer injuries despite my active lifestyle. Having Katie, Celeste and Eoghan lead the classes has been pivotal in my recovery. Their guidance helped me safely and effectively build strength, which sports alone hadn’t addressed, especially given my osteopenia.

I would highly recommend this clinic and its classes. Their approach is holistic, supportive, and realistic, with a focus on form rather than appearance. The small class sizes and their expertise have given me confidence, prevented bad habits, and made every session feel like a worthwhile investment in my physical and mental health.

Physio / strength / cardio classes

“After an accident in June 2023, I was diagnosed with a severe concussion, which resulted in terrible headaches. My left hip flexor was very painful which limited my movements, I also had neck and shoulder pain. I attended the practice first for one-to-one physiotherapy for a few months and once I was ready I started in the classes. The plan was to build my strength back up and reduce the pain gradually. I was very nervous as I had lost my confidence and did not want to injure myself or increase my pain levels. Eight months on, I am pain-free, stronger, and much fitter. My confidence has returned, and I do not fear injuries or trying new things. My life has improved dramatically, affecting every aspect positively.

Having a physiotherapist lead the class has been paramount to injury prevention and attention to each participant’s needs, injuries, and fitness levels. The classes are capped at six attendees. I started with strength and conditioning classes and now do a mix of cardio, too, as my strength and fitness have improved immensely. I highly recommend the classes due to the level of attention and care you receive and their understanding of your injury history.
The physiotherapist classes are exceptional.”

Pilates Classes

I started Pilates ten years ago when I had hurt my shoulder and attended Ruth who recommended Physio led classes when I recovered and I have benefited ever since. I feel stronger & have more energy.

Regarding a physiotherapist leading a class – they are so highly trained and have a greater understanding of the body, it’s strengths & weaknesses. The physiotherapist can see how capable each individual is with each exercise and can progress everyone at their own pace.

I would definitely recommend the combination of Physiolates & strength training.

Strength training – I did not think I would be able for it but I surprise myself with what I am now capable of doing and lifting. I was never great at exercising other than some yoga in the past, so it is amazing that I am so strong now.

Classes

I wanted to get fit in a safe way under professional supervision because I had a few aches and pains that needed careful attention. Celeste makes sure that I do the exercises correctly, and she tweaks the class exercises to suit my particular ailments. I feel safe doing the exercises- I know a lot of people who’ve taken up exercise and have got injured or had to stop because it wasn’t working for them due to a lack of supervision. The classes are informal and great fun and overall I feel fitter and stronger.

I do one class a week of strength training and I hope to join a cardio class on Friday soon.

Physio

I visited Ciara from Enniskerry Physio for 3 months to overcome posterior tibialis tendinitis caused by overuse while training for an international tap dance competition. Ciara rehabbed me back very efficiently in time for the competition with a focused program that specifically worked to rest, release and recover the injury and prevent the same injury in the long term. Both myself and my team coach were impressed with the precision of the program and the fast results that helped me get back on my feet both to dance but also return to basic functional activities such as walking and gym. Through this injury I learned more about technique and my body, and helped retrain my body with a consistent exercise and stretching program which have already made me feel stronger. Overall, very happy and would recommend both Ciara and the clinic – thank you.
